A new report from the Wise Group shows the improved outcomes and cost-effectiveness of integrating two evidence-based solutions, Housing First and Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment support.
Through The People’s Project and Workwise, the Wise Group have integrated Housing First and IPS employment support to address both homelessness and unemployment need simultaneously, in a small prototype.
The report provides strong, sector-leading evidence that IPS, when embedded alongside Housing First, drives powerful impacts for people and communities. Evidence supports the scaling up of integrated housing and employment support models – providers are urged to prepare for growth, deepen partnerships, and keep learning from implementation.
If you’re running an IPS employment support programme, we encourage you to consider key findings from the report to promote next-phase integrated pilots and collaborative funding. If you are already integrating Housing First and IPS, let’s discuss the success factors and challenges we can learn from to accelerate improvement for people and systems.
