Work Counts and the Wise Group are pleased to welcome Kristina Carlsson Stylianides to Aotearoa New Zealand later this month for a seminar sharing experiences from Sweden on the implementation of two evidence-based practices, IPS employment support and Housing First.
Seminar: Implementing IPS and Housing First in Sweden: What we learnt
Date: Monday, 23 June 2025
Time: 2pm – 3.30pm
Location: Harakeke House, 15 Ronwood Avenue, Manukau
Register for the webinar here: www.workcounts.co.nz/events.
Housing First services focus on giving people a stable place to live right away, without any conditions. But to stay housed and do well in the long run, people often need more than just a home – they also need support to find and keep a job.
Work Counts is keen to support collaborative services, such as employment consultants from Workwise working closely with housing case managers from The People’s Project. IPS employment support works well with Housing First because it helps people find jobs quickly and gives them ongoing support.
“Kristina’s visit is expected to provide actionable insights, practical guidance, and momentum for implementing employment and housing support in Aotearoa New Zealand,” says Warren Elwin, Chief Executive.
About the seminar
Kristina will give a presentation based on her doctoral research, the “Take Away” study, which has focused on the implementation of Housing First and IPS in three Swedish municipalities, identifying ‘de-implementation’ efforts where needed. Recently the “Take Away” research team has been giving presentations in Sweden and considering the findings for transforming services.
About the presenter
