In 2018, the Ministry of Social Development invited a group of people to take part in a study to help set up an IPS Employment Support service at Waitematā District Health Board (DHB).

The study aimed to try out a new employment support service based on an approach (IPS) that has worked well internationally.

Many people got jobs in the short period of the study and feedback from mental health teams was overwhelmingly positive. Useful feedback and suggestions were received; as well as a number of recommendations for improvement.

A bigger study got underway in 2019 with changes that responded to the study findings, and to build on the successes and what was learned.

Read the summary of findings and full report available online.
