Work Counts has been working with the IPS employment support national steering group to have an oversight of IPS employment support coverage by district health board (DHB).
View the updated map which has been refreshed to show current coverage of IPS employment support integrated with secondary mental health and addiction services.
It’s also a helpful resource to see the IPS employment support providers integrated into the secondary mental health and addiction services in each region.
Findings:
- Just over half of the current health regions (13 out of 20) have some level of employment support integrated with secondary mental health and addiction teams.
- Nine out of 20 health regions (which equates to 61% of the country’s population) have an IPS coverage rating of “fair” and above.
- There are five regions where IPS employment support has reached “good” or “excellent” coverage (Northland, Lakes, Taranaki, Capital & Coast and Nelson Marlborough).
- Integrated employment support is currently provided by ten non-government and government providers.
- There are 86.3 full-time equivalent employment consultants working across 69 clinical mental health and addiction teams, with the size of programmes in each region varying from one to 13 employment consultants.
